Central Areolar Choroidal Dystrophy (CACD) is a rare hereditary eye disorder that primarily affects the macula, leading to progressive central vision loss.

The symptoms are progressive loss of central vision, difficulty reading or seeing fine detail; peripheral vision usually preserved.

The fundus shows a central area of chorioretinal atrophy in the macula with visible sclera in advanced stages.
