Blood inside the eye

Blood inside the eye is called vitreous hemorrhage. This commonly happens in advanced stages of diabetic retinopathy or any condition causing new abnormal blood vessels to grow. Injections are given insde the eye to stop bleeding and reduce growth of abnormal blood vessels.
