Fresh Vitreous Haemorrhage in a diabetic patient

A young diabetic patient came with black floaters in the left eye. On examination she was found to have vitreous haemorrhage or blood inside the vitreous cavity of the eye. If diabetic patients are evaluated yearly and treated with laser and injections, this can be avoided. Vitreous haemorrhage is treated with anti-VEGF injections and laser photocoagulation. Rarely surgery may be indicated in cases of non-resolving vitreous haemorrhage.
